WHO WE ARE

Innit Creative Films is a boutique production and social media agency based in Whakatū, Nelson.

We're Liss and Jonny and between us we've clocked up three decades of film and design experience across London, Europe, the Middle East and Aotearoa. Six years ago we swapped London life for Liss's hometown of Nelson, set up Innit and haven't looked back.

We create brand films, short-form content, photography and social media strategy that actually works and we have a lot of fun doing it!

Jonny spent 10+ years as an Assistant Director on major productions and Liss in Costume and Art department for film, TV and commercials, mostly in London. Now we pour all of that experience into telling stories for local brands right here in our own backyard.

Liss also sneaks off to produce short films that have screened at festivals including Māoriland and Melbourne Women in Film Festival and Jonny brings that extra Hollywood polish that comes from years on big productions.

We love the local scene and getting involved, from supporting and creating content for local festivals like Nelson Arts Festival, Make it, The Spectacle and Pride Wairau, to judging the High Schools film competition - Briefs.

We've been lucky to work with some awesome clients including YETI, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Chia Sisters, Tohu Wines, Te Tauihu Māori Culture Council, Seifried Estate Winery, Nelson Provincial Museum and plenty more great businesses across the motu.

Our Values

Often in projects there are compromises, but one thing we don’t want to compromise is our ethics.

I. Honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi

As Tangata Tiriti, we love to tautoko and celebrate kaupapa Māori in our mahi. This is an ongoing journey of learning for us and we are committed to walking this path in our work and whānau life. Te Ao Māori enriches all of us who call Aotearoa home and we feel honoured to live on this sacred land, in partnership with tangata whenua under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

II. Sustainably focussed

We only have one planet and we see it as our responsibility to ensure that the environment we love so much is protected for future generations. We make an effort to off-set our impact where possible and are always looking for ways to improve.

We want to work with organisations that put the planet and our environment centre stage of their business plan.

III.Fair treatment of our people

Our experience in the film industry has shown us that a happy & well rested crew is an effective crew.

It is important to us that we treat our crew & collaborators with kindness & respect, protect work safety, pay fair rates and ensure humane hours.

IV. Positive Vibes

Life’s too short to be taken too seriously so we like having a laugh while we work to keep the creativity flowing.
